A new front door

The Lodge has a brand new website at raleighmooselodge.com. Same address, all new inside.

The front page tells you what's on this week and whether the Lodge is open right now. The full October calendar, the bar and kitchen menu, weekly activities, hall rentals and membership each have their own page, and it all works on your phone. Save it to your home screen.

The Lodge also has its own email address now: info@raleighmooselodge.com. Questions about anything on the site, rentals or membership can go there.

Turkey Shoot season opens October 14

Our biggest fundraiser of the year runs Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 to about 10pm, October 14 through December 30, except Bash night, Halloween and Christmas Day. It's $5 a shot, open to all ages, and the little ones shoot with an adult's help. Bring your own shotgun and we supply the shells, or use one of the house guns. Closest to the bull's-eye wins meat prizes: steaks, roasts, hams, turkeys, pork and breakfast packs. Coffee, hot chocolate and food are available. Member sign-up starts at 6pm.

Every dollar goes to the Angel Tree big-item gifts, buying Christmas for our Mooseheart kids, and helping local families who need a hand. Come shoot, or come cheer.

Halloween Bash with Wide Open, Saturday October 24

Food at 6pm, music at 7pm, drawing at 8pm. $15 per person covers the band and the food, pay at the door. Costume contest for all ages, raffles and door prizes. Outdoors, weather permitting.

Shawn Powers' Pilgrim Ceremony, Sunday October 25 at noon

Please join us as we honor Shawn Powers on this special occasion. The Pilgrim Degree is the highest honor in the Moose. Noon in the Lodge Hall.

Good eats this month

• Fish Dinner, Friday October 9. Flounder, boiled potatoes, slaw and hush puppies, $12 a plate, dine in or take out, 5pm till sold out.
• Taco Tuesday, October 27. Beef or chicken, hard or soft shell, $1.50 each from 5pm till sold out, with a fixin' bar of toppings.
• Every day. The kitchen and bar open at 4pm. The full menu is on the website, from wings and the Moose Philly to $3 domestics.

Family and community

• Karaoke with Jeff, Saturday October 3, 7pm in the hall. Free, with the 8pm drawing after.
• ALZ Walk, Saturday October 3, 10am in downtown Raleigh. Walk with the Lodge team.
• Kids Fall Festival, Saturday October 10, 1 to 3pm. Games, treats and fall fun. Kids $5, adults free.

Lodge business

• October dues are due. Renew online at mooseintl.org, in the Moose app, or at the Lodge. Thank you!
• Membership meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursday, October 8 and 22, at 7pm. New-member orientation is October 22 at 6:30pm, before the meeting.
• District 7 meeting, Sunday October 4. Lunch at 1pm, meeting at 2pm.
• Moose Legion meeting Tuesday October 6 at 7pm. Board meetings October 13 and 27 at 6pm. Women of the Moose board 6pm and chapter 7pm on October 15.
• Volunteers wanted to help finish the stage deck for Backyard Bash concerts. Ask at the bar or use the sign-up form.
